01Overview

What is SOC as a Service?

SOC as a Service (SOCaaS) is a security operations centre delivered as a subscription. A provider's analysts monitor your logs and security alerts around the clock, investigate suspicious activity and escalate real incidents to your team, using shared platforms and processes instead of a team you build and staff yourself.

A SOC is more than a tool. It is people on shift, runbooks, detection content, threat intelligence and a feedback loop. Building all of that takes years and a team of dozens to run round the clock.

In Saudi Arabia there is one more factor: the NCA licenses managed SOC providers. Which tier you need depends on whether you are a government body or critical national infrastructure operator.

03How we start

From kick-off to live monitoring

A staged onboarding means alerts are tuned before service levels start.

  1. Step 1 · Week 1

    Scope

Assets, sources, regulations and escalation rules.

  2. Step 2 · Weeks 2 to 3

    Connect

    Log sources and agents connected.

  3. Step 3 · Weeks 3 to 5

    Tune

Detections and thresholds tuned on your data.

  4. Step 4 · Week 5

    Rehearse

    Playbooks tested with your team.

  5. Step 5 · Week 6

    Go live

    24/7 service levels begin.

  6. Step 6 · Ongoing

    Improve

    Monthly reviews and tuning.

06Saudi Arabia and the GCC

A SOC that fits the Saudi regulatory picture

Licensing, logging and sector expectations all apply to managed SOC services.

  • NCA MSOC

    NCA managed SOC licensing

Tier 1 licensed providers can serve all organisations, including government bodies and operators of critical national infrastructure. Tier 2 licensed providers can serve other organisations. We confirm which tier you need and how the service is delivered.

  • NCA ECC

    ECC logging and monitoring

The ECC includes cybersecurity event logs and monitoring, and incident and threat management, as control areas. SOC reports and retained logs provide the evidence.

  • SAMA

    SAMA operations and technology

SAMA expects financial entities to detect and respond to incidents, assessed through the maturity model.

  • PDPL

    In-Kingdom telemetry

Telemetry can be stored in Saudi-hosted or on-premises storage, in line with the PDPL.

Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI)Cyber security

Enterprise-grade protection for a mission-critical engagement

SAMI engaged GoAgile to strengthen its cyber security posture with protection aligned to the rigorous security and compliance standards of its sector.

  • Strengthened the organization's cyber security posture
  • Delivered enterprise-grade protection aligned to sector security and compliance standards
Regional telecom operatorManaged detection and response

24/7 managed detection and response for a telecom operator

Alert volumes had outgrown the in-house team, and mean time to respond was too long.

  • Onboarded endpoint, network and identity telemetry
  • Tuned detections to the operator's environment
  • Defined escalation paths and response playbooks

Result: Fewer false positives, faster containment and weekly reporting the security leadership could act on.

Government authorityIncident response

Containing a ransomware incident for a public body

Systems were encrypted on a weekend and the team needed expert help immediately.

  • Contained the spread and preserved evidence
  • Identified the entry point and persistence
  • Led a staged recovery from clean backups

Result: Services restored and the root cause closed, with a lessons-learned report for leadership.

GoAgile strengthened our cybersecurity posture with enterprise-grade protection aligned to the rigorous security and compliance standards our sector demands. Their team has been a dependable partner on a mission-critical engagement.

10Questions answered

SOC as a Service FAQs

Do you provide 24/7 monitoring?

Yes. Monitoring runs around the clock with analysts on shift, and response targets by severity are agreed in the service contract.

What does SOC as a Service cost?

Pricing depends on assets, users, log volume and coverage. We provide a fixed monthly price after scoping.

Which NCA tier of MSOC licence do I need?

Government organisations and organisations that own, operate or host critical national infrastructure must use a Tier 1 licensed provider. Other organisations can use Tier 1 or Tier 2. We confirm your position during scoping.

Do I need to give up my existing SIEM?

No. We can operate your SIEM, or use a data lake to retain logs more cheaply while keeping detections where they work.

How do you reduce false positives?

Through tuning on your data, enrichment with asset and identity context, suppression rules agreed with you, and regular review.

Will the SOC respond to incidents?

The SOC escalates with evidence and recommended actions. For active containment, MDR adds response on your behalf, and incident response adds forensics and recovery.

How long does onboarding take?

Typically about six weeks to reach full service levels, depending on the number of log sources.

Can you provide Arabic reporting?

Yes. Reports and incident briefings are available in Arabic and English.
