What it is

What are access control and enterprise wireless systems?

Access control systems decide who may enter which doors, when and with what credential, and record every entry. Enterprise wireless systems deliver managed Wi-Fi across a building or campus, with coverage, capacity and security designed for hundreds or thousands of devices. Together they control who gets into the building and who gets onto the network.

The two systems share a discipline. Both start with a survey, both depend on the cabling and network behind them, and both fail the same way when they are installed to a catalogue instead of to the building. A door controller on an overloaded switch, or an access point placed where the plan said rather than where the signal needs it, causes faults that no software setting can fix.

We design, supply, install and support both, and connect them to your identity systems, so a leaver loses their badge and their Wi-Fi in the same step. Because we also install the cabling and run the network, the foundations are right and the support has one owner.

What we design and install

Doors, visitors, cameras and Wi-Fi, designed as one security layer

Six workstreams that cover how people enter, move around and connect.

Doors that know who is standing at them

Readers, controllers and software that grant or refuse entry by person, role, time and place, and keep working if the network drops.

  • Readers for smart cards, mobile credentials, PIN and biometrics
  • Door controllers that keep operating offline
  • Time and zone rules by role and location
  • Anti-passback and tailgating alerts
  • Lift, turnstile and speed-gate integration
  • Fire alarm release and safe emergency egress

What you get: Controlled entry with a complete log of who went where and when.

How we work

From site walk to a system you can trust

Survey first, hardware second. Most problems in access and wireless systems are placement and design problems, not equipment problems.

Start with a conversation
  1. Survey

We walk the site, review plans and talk to security, HR and IT, then record doors, risk areas, coverage needs and user density.

  2. Design

Door schedule, reader and controller types, access policies, Wi-Fi heat maps, access point placement and the cabling and switching behind them.

  3. Integrate

Plans for HR, Active Directory or Entra ID, CCTV, fire alarm and visitor systems, agreed before installation starts.

  4. Install

Cabling, readers, controllers, locks and access points installed and labelled, with minimal disruption to the building.

  5. Test and tune

Every door tested, emergency release verified, Wi-Fi validated against the design and tuned after real users arrive.

  6. Train and support

Administrator training, handover documentation and ongoing support through our service desk and NOC.

Choosing credentials and Wi-Fi standards

Two choices shape both systems for years: how people prove who they are, and which generation of Wi-Fi to build on.

Credential types compared

CredentialSecurityConvenienceTypical use
Basic proximity card (125 kHz)Low: easily copiedHighLegacy systems; we recommend upgrading
Encrypted smart card (for example MIFARE DESFire)HighHighOffices, government and corporate sites
Mobile credential (Bluetooth or NFC)HighVery highHybrid offices and visitor passes

Biometric (fingerprint, face or palm)HighHighData centres, laboratories and high-security rooms

Wi-Fi generations at a glance

StandardBandsTheoretical peakWhen to choose it
Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac)5 GHzAbout 3.5 Gb/sExisting estates; not recommended for new builds
Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)2.4 and 5 GHzAbout 9.6 Gb/sCurrent mainstream choice for offices and campuses
Wi-Fi 6EAdds 6 GHzAbout 9.6 Gb/sDense environments that benefit from clean spectrum, where permitted
Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be)2.4, 5 and 6 GHzAbout 46 Gb/sHigh-density or long-life designs that need headroom

Peak rates are theoretical maxima for each generation. Real throughput depends on devices, channel width, interference and design.

Why clients trust GoAgile with access and wireless

These systems protect people, data and reputations. These are the principles we install them by.

Survey before hardware

Heat maps and door schedules come first, so you buy what the building needs.

One partner for the foundation

The same team installs the cabling, switching and access systems, so there is one owner for faults.

Secure by design

Encrypted credentials, secure reader protocols and identity-based Wi-Fi, not default settings.

Linked to your people systems

HR and identity integration means leavers lose access to doors and Wi-Fi together.

Supported after go-live

Monitoring, re-surveys and fast replacements through our NOC and service desk.

Local installation

Riyadh-based engineers with experience of Saudi sites, approvals and operating conditions.

Questions answered

Access Control & Wireless FAQs

What is an access control system?

An access control system grants or refuses entry through doors, gates, lifts and turnstiles based on who the person is, where and when they are trying to enter. It records every event, so you know who went where, and can revoke access instantly when someone leaves.

How much does an access control system cost in Saudi Arabia?

Cost depends on the number of doors, the reader and credential type, the controllers, locks and cabling, and integrations such as visitor management or CCTV. We quote per door after a survey, with software and support shown separately.

Should we use cards, mobile credentials or biometrics?

Encrypted smart cards are a solid default. Mobile credentials add convenience and are easy to issue. Biometrics suit high-security rooms such as data centres. Many sites use a mix, with a second factor on sensitive doors, and we recommend by risk.

Does access control still work if the network fails?

Yes, when designed properly. Modern door controllers store rules and recent events locally, so doors keep working and logs synchronise when the network returns.

Why do I need a Wi-Fi site survey?

Walls, glass, lifts and even stock levels change how radio signals behave. A survey and a heat map show where access points need to go, how many are needed and which channels to use, which avoids buying too little, too much or the wrong equipment.

What is the difference between Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E?

Both use the same 802.11ax technology. Wi-Fi 6E adds the 6 GHz band, which has more channels and no older devices on it, so it helps in dense environments. Availability of 6 GHz depends on regulation and on your devices supporting it.

How many access points do I need?

It depends on the floor area, wall construction, number of users and devices and what they do on the network. A survey or predictive design gives a defensible number, and we adjust it after users arrive.

Can access control connect to Active Directory or HR systems?

Yes. Integrating with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID or your HR system lets access follow joiner, mover and leaver changes automatically, which removes manual badge management and lingering permissions.

Can you integrate CCTV and alarms with access control?

Yes. Linking events lets operators see the relevant camera view when a door is forced or held open, and lets alarms and access share the same status picture.

Do you support the systems after installation?

Yes. We offer maintenance, monitoring through our NOC, firmware updates, re-surveys and spares, so the system continues to perform as the building and its users change.
