Odoo ERP Migration Services in Saudi Arabia & the Gulf
GoAgile Technologies is a certified Odoo Gold Partner for legacy ERP migrations across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. Moving from Tally, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP or a custom system, we manage the full lifecycle: data audit, ZATCA-compliant chart of accounts, PDPL-compliant HR data transfer, parallel run and cutover, drawing on 200+ implementations and 14+ years of Gulf ERP experience.
Why ERP Migrations Fail in Saudi Arabia
Most failed migrations are not technical failures. They miss a local requirement or lose data quietly. These are the six causes we plan around from day one.
Legacy systems cannot handle ZATCA Phase 2 e-invoicing, which creates compliance risk during cutover.
Tally and QuickBooks charts of accounts rarely map cleanly to ZATCA-compliant Odoo codes.
The PDPL requires migrated employee and customer data to meet residency, consent and minimisation rules.
Mid-year migrations complicate opening balances, accruals and prepayments.
Custom systems often export poorly structured data, causing silent loss that is found only after go-live.
Cutover pressure forces a choice between a rushed go-live and extended parallel running.
Our migration methodology
Zero loss of financial history. Compliant from day one.
Migration in Saudi Arabia touches ZATCA Phase 2, the PDPL, GOSI and payroll timing, and the local chart of accounts. We plan around all of them with three principles: no loss of financial history, a ZATCA-compliant chart of accounts from go-live, and a cutover window that protects payroll and invoicing.
Your legacy system stays live, in parallel, until Odoo is validated against it. You switch only when the numbers agree.

— Our approach
Our Odoo Migration in 6 Phases
A structured path from the first audit to a validated go-live, with a sign-off at every phase.
Legacy System Audit & Data Mapping
We assess structures, account codes, employees, inventory and open transactions, then produce a written plan and a data map.
ZATCA-Compliant Chart of Accounts
We restructure legacy codes and post the opening trial balance to the correct accounts.
Master Data Migration & Validation
Customers, suppliers, products, employees and fixed assets move with sign-off for each entity type.
Transactional History & Opening Balances
Payables, receivables and inventory history, typically two to three years, reconciled to the last audited period.
PDPL-Compliant HR Data Transfer
Personal data moves under documented protocols with a written compliance checklist.
Parallel Run & Zero-Downtime Cutover
Legacy and Odoo run side by side for a full cycle, and we cut over only when payroll, invoicing and stock reconcile.

— Versions
Odoo Version Upgrades and Server Moves
Already on Odoo? We move older versions to the latest release and move instances between servers, keeping data, customisations and daily operations intact.
Database migration
The full database moves with its structure and configuration intact.
Module compatibility review
Every standard, third-party and custom module is reviewed against the target version.
Custom code migration
Custom modules are adapted or rebuilt for the new version and tested feature by feature.
Server migration
Move an instance between self-hosted and cloud servers, with or without a version change.
Migration scripts
Scripts written for your data and tested on real business data.
Testing and go-live support
Staging-environment testing of modules, workflows and integrations before go-live.
The Risks of Migration, and How We Handle Them
Every migration carries risk. The difference is whether it is planned for in advance.
| Risk | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| Data loss | Data audits, full backups, multiple test migrations, reconciliation to your last audited period and validation with your team. |
| Business downtime | Parallel running and a planned cutover window, so the legacy system stays live until Odoo is validated. |
| Poor data quality | Cleansing, de-duplication, standardisation and mapping before anything is imported. |
| Custom module compatibility | Review of every customisation, redesign of incompatible logic and migration of workflows. |
| Compliance gaps | ZATCA-compliant chart of accounts and PDPL-compliant HR data handling built into the plan. |
| User adoption | Training, documentation, onboarding and post-go-live support. |
Before We Start: The Pre-Flight Checklist
Five facts we confirm in the first call. Together they decide how big the migration is and how long it takes.
Current system and version
The gap between where you are and where you are going shapes the workload.
Database size
The size of your data decides the migration path and test cycles.
Hosting environment
Self-hosted or cloud changes how cutover is planned.
Full backup
We take a complete backup before touching anything.
Expected downtime
We estimate it up front and design the cutover to keep it minimal.
- 6–10 weeksSmall and mid-sized business, Tally or QuickBooks, under three years of history, one entity
- 12–20 weeksLarger migration: several entities, SAP or Dynamics, five or more years of history, or heavy customisation

Which legacy systems can you migrate to Odoo?
We migrate from Tally, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics (Business Central and AX), SAP and SAP Business One, Oracle, NetSuite, Zoho, Sage, Salesforce, Excel and Access records, custom systems and older Odoo versions. We assess the complexity of each source during scoping.
How do you handle ZATCA during a migration?
We restructure the legacy chart of accounts to ZATCA Phase 2-compliant codes before any opening balances are posted, so the new system is compliant from the first day of go-live and no retroactive compliance project is needed.
Is our HR data covered by the PDPL?
Yes. Employee and customer data, such as names, ID numbers, bank details and health information, falls under the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law. We migrate it under documented protocols covering consent, minimisation and residency, and give you a written checklist.
Can we migrate mid-year without disrupting payroll or invoicing?
Yes. We run your legacy system and Odoo in parallel for a full cycle, and cut over only when payroll, invoicing and stock reconcile. Cutover is usually planned at a month or quarter end.
How long does an Odoo migration take?
A small or mid-sized business moving from Tally or QuickBooks with under three years of history and one entity typically takes about six to ten weeks. A larger migration with several entities, SAP or Dynamics as the source, five or more years of history or heavy customisation typically takes about twelve to twenty weeks. We give you a written timeline after the audit.
Is an Odoo upgrade the same as a migration?
An upgrade is one type of migration. Others are moving from another ERP to Odoo and moving Odoo to a new server or host. An upgrade moves the whole database, custom modules and integrations to a newer version, which is more than applying a patch.
How do you prevent data loss?
We audit the data, take full backups before any change, run multiple test migrations, reconcile the results to your last audited period and verify records with your team. The legacy system stays live until Odoo is validated.
What happens to our custom modules and integrations?
We review each custom module for compatibility with the target version and then adapt or rebuild it. Integrations are reviewed and adapted so connected systems keep working after the move.
How much history should we migrate?
It depends on your needs. We typically migrate master data in full and transactional history for the last two to three years, reconciled to the last audited period, and archive older records so they remain accessible.
Can we migrate in-house instead?
It is technically possible, but a certified partner lowers the risk of data loss and downtime, especially for complex set-ups, mid-year cutovers or Saudi compliance requirements. We can also review a plan you have made yourself.
How do I choose a migration partner?
Look for a certified partner with real migration experience, a documented process, clear communication and local compliance knowledge. Ask how they prevent data loss and what they do at cutover.
