Vulnerability management in Saudi Arabia: fix what matters first

We find your assets, scan them continuously, rank vulnerabilities by real risk and track remediation to closure, so the list shrinks every month instead of growing in a yearly report.

  • Continuous scanning of IT, cloud and containers
  • Risk-based priority, not a CVSS dump
  • Tracked remediation with owners and deadlines

01Overview

What is vulnerability management?

Vulnerability management is the continuous process of discovering assets, finding weaknesses in them, ranking those weaknesses by risk, fixing them and verifying the fix. Unlike a one-off scan or penetration test, it is a cycle that keeps your exposure falling as systems and threats change.

Scanners produce thousands of findings. The hard part is deciding which dozen matter this week: those that are exploitable, exposed to the internet or on critical assets, and tracking them to closure.

We run the whole cycle as a service, including the unglamorous part: chasing owners, agreeing exceptions and proving that fixes worked.

02How it works

A cycle that keeps exposure falling

Six steps, repeated every month.

  1. 01

    Discover

Find every asset, including shadow IT and cloud.

  2. 02

    Assess

    Scan for vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.

  3. 03

    Prioritise

Rank by exploitability, exposure and business value.

  4. 04

    Remediate

Patch, reconfigure or apply compensating controls.

  5. 05

    Verify

    Rescan to confirm closure.

  6. 06

    Report

Show trend, risk and exceptions to leadership.

03What we do

Six services inside the programme

Each is defined so you know what you receive.

Asset discovery

A living inventory of what you own and expose.

  • Network and cloud discovery
  • Internet-facing asset discovery
  • Ownership tagging
  • Criticality classification

Scanning

Authenticated and unauthenticated scanning on a schedule.

  • Servers and endpoints
  • Network devices
  • Containers and images
  • Cloud configuration

Risk-based prioritisation

Ranking that reflects real exploitation and business impact.

  • Exploit and threat context
  • Exposure and compensating controls
  • Asset value
  • Clear priority lists

Remediation management

Tickets, owners, deadlines and follow-up.

  • Integration with your ITSM
  • Patch and configuration guidance
  • Escalation for overdue items
  • Exception workflow

Verification

Proof that fixes worked.

  • Targeted rescans
  • Evidence capture
  • Closure reporting
  • Reopen on regression

Reporting

The numbers leadership and auditors ask for.

  • Trend and ageing
  • Coverage and SLA compliance
  • Top risks
  • Audit extracts

How we decide what to fix first

Severity alone is a poor guide. We combine signals.

SignalQuestionEffect on priority
CVSS severityHow bad is the flaw in theory?Baseline
Exploit activityIs it being exploited or is code public?Raises sharply
ExposureIs the asset reachable from the internet?Raises
Asset criticalityWhat does the asset support?Raises or lowers
Compensating controlsIs it already mitigated?Lowers

06Saudi Arabia and the GCC

Vulnerability management as a compliance control

Several frameworks require it, and auditors ask for evidence.

  • NCA

    NCA ECC

Vulnerability management is a defined control area, with expectations for regular scanning, assessment and remediation.

  • SAMA

    SAMA CSF

Financial entities must identify and remediate vulnerabilities within defined timeframes, and show maturity over time.

  • PCI DSS

    PCI DSS

Requirements call for regular internal and external scans and for fixing high-risk vulnerabilities.

Why organisations outsource this to GoAgile

Programmes fail on follow-through, not on scanning.

Industrial manufacturerVulnerability management

Risk-based vulnerability management for a manufacturer

Scanners produced thousands of findings and no one knew which mattered.

  • Asset inventory and criticality tagging
  • Risk-based prioritisation with threat context
  • Tracked remediation with owners and SLAs

Result: The critical backlog shrank and reporting became a monthly routine.

Tier-1 Saudi bankRed team exercise

A threat-led red team exercise for a bank

The bank needed evidence that its people, processes and detection would hold up against a realistic attacker, in line with SAMA expectations.

  • Agreed rules of engagement and a threat scenario with the CISO
  • Ran a controlled exercise against production systems
  • Ran a purple team workshop so defenders could see every step

Result: Detection gaps were fixed, playbooks were updated and the board received a plain-language report.

National energy operatorOT security assessment

OT assessment and segmentation for an energy operator

Plant networks had grown without a clear map, and remote access for vendors was a concern.

  • Passive discovery of OT assets without touching production
  • Purdue-model segmentation design and industrial firewall rules
  • Secure remote access for vendors with session recording

Result: A mapped, segmented network with a prioritised remediation plan the plant team could schedule.

10Questions answered

Vulnerability Management FAQs

What is the difference between vulnerability scanning and vulnerability management?

Scanning finds issues. Management is the full cycle of discovery, assessment, prioritisation, remediation and verification, tracked to closure.

How often should we scan?

Continuously or at least monthly for most systems, and more often for internet-facing assets.

Do you scan cloud and containers?

Yes. We assess cloud configuration, workloads and container images as well as traditional servers and endpoints.

Do you fix the vulnerabilities?

We prioritise, guide and track. Your teams or our infrastructure team can apply patches under change control.

How do you handle systems that cannot be patched?

With compensating controls such as segmentation, virtual patching and monitoring, recorded as approved exceptions.

What is risk-based prioritisation?

Ranking vulnerabilities using exploit activity, exposure and asset criticality in addition to severity scores, so you fix what attackers are most likely to use.

Can you integrate with our ticketing system?

Yes. We create and update tickets in your ITSM so remediation follows your normal process.
